control Hive via mobile phone internet
Has anyone managed to control a Hive Heating system by using a "mobile data" internet connection, in place of having to install a "land line" internet connection? Especially useful for Charities who run premises (e.g. Village Halls) and cannot afford the monthly costs of installing a landline /broadband solution.

Unfortunately this does not work. Mobile broadband connections might work for a few hours or so, but it seems that the Hive Bug connection-handling is extremely sensitive, and the transient nature of mobile network connectivity causes the hub to go offline, and the only thing that brings it back online is a full power-cycle. I have found that a tplink remote-control power socket (HS100) allows me to physically reboot the hive hub when it goes offline. This in effect prove how utterly useless the code which handles network-connectivity works - as the tplink stays connected but the hivehub usually only works for a few hours.
